Perfect as a gift for Easter or for your favourite collector of decorative eggs, religious artefacts or miniature boxes, this is a special vintage find I acquired from an estate sale some years ago. 

After some research online, I identified it as an antique hand carved Coquilla Nut secret egg box with matching Rosary, sometimes known as a Corozo Nut box from the Tagua Palm.

I acquired this piece with very little knowledge of its age or provenance but have looked up similar versions online and as far as I can tell, this is likely an antique religious artefact possibly French.

It seems quite rare to find the original rosary with its case, which I believe this to be. 

Egg is about 7cm long.

One of the Rosary crucifixes is broken as you can see from the photo, this appears to be the extent of the damage.

Overall otherwise in excellent condition given these items are likely well over 100 years old.
