I've been making one-of-a-kind art houses and Advent calendars for nearly a decade now, and 2026 is my most extensive collection to date. Through the years, my Advents have been purchased as indulgences of total whimsy for fellow collectors, armchair travellers and kindred spirits who delight in the miniature scale, imagination, daily surprise and beauty of these unique curations.

This 'Poterie' Miniature Shop and Advent calendar is adapted from one of the 'book houses' featured in last year's Christmas windows at The Lost + Found Department in Hunters Hill, Sydney. 

I saved this house especially for this purpose, knowing its structure would make the perfect Advent calendar. Measuring about 50cm tall to its tip, it is fairly narrow at about 24cm wide, and would sit comfortably on a bookshelf or console table for a charming miniature display. 

The contents have been meticulously chosen (and in some cases, handmade) to evoke a charming pottery shop on a tiny Mediterranean island. Each of the 25 gifts will come packaged in a handmade gift box or calico bag, individually wrapped and numbered, designed to open each day throughout December (or however you choose to enjoy it). Treat it like your daily visit to a fairy-sized atelier!

At the end of your unboxing experience, you will have your own richly detailed miniature vignette featuring the bookish villa with its papered walls, vintage brass accents, silk-lined windows and chequerboard floors. Fill the shelves however you see fit, or use these photos as your styling guide.

All the contents you'll receive are photographed here, but I have deliberately resisted detailing them too much to enhance the surprise, as I find most often these Advents are purchased for personal enjoyment. Expect real terracotta, glass, ceramic, wood, wicker and brass. Rest assured that the value of each piece is far beyond anything you would find in a more mass-produced or generic 'luxury' Advent calendar. 

Note: all my Advent Calendars are designed for adult collectors and are not suitable as gifts for young children as they contain small parts, fragile materials, true vintage and antique finds and handmade pieces.

Some of the pieces do carry small imperfections, reflective of their vintage or antique condition and in some cases handmade character.
