FAQs about ‘Olive at the Market’
Is Olive at the Market a kid’s book? For what ages?
Yes! While we call it an all-ages storybook, it’s perfect to read to toddlers, or for children from as young as 6-7 years old (and well beyond) to read by themselves. We hope it becomes one of those books that children remember with warm fondness once they are adults.
Why is it called an ‘all-ages storybook’?
We hope to encourage more grown-ups (even those without kids in their lives) to embrace the joy of beautiful storybooks. The gorgeous illustrations and gentle tale offer an inspired retreat that anyone can enjoy.
Is it really made in Australia?
It sure is. Conceived and written in Sydney, illustrated in Newcastle, printed in Perth, bound in Melbourne and then hand-finished back in Sydney. It is truly an artisanal, limited-edition product, unlike the many mass-produced storybooks in the marketplace.
Who made the book?
Bianca Tzatzagos is the author. She is a copywriter and former magazine journalist based in Sydney, Australia. This is her second book, following on from Olive and the Larder. The beautiful watercolour illustrations are by Inga Campbell. The book is printed and bound in Australia by Scotts.
Will there be more books in the series?
Well this is already Book 2, so fingers crossed we can make a trilogy! Be sure to follow @oliveandthelarder on Instagram to keep in touch with Olive and encourage her future adventures.
Where can I find the first book?
Olive and the Larder was released as a limited-edition storybook of only 500 copies. They sold out very quickly! While we have doubled our release for Olive at the Market, it is best to shop quickly to avoid disappointment. If you are looking for your own copy of Olive and the Larder, may we recommend our exclusive Olive doll, which comes with her own (perfectly readable) miniature edition! A delightful gift for children and discerning collectors of all ages.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes! Prices are in Australian dollars, or may automatically convert to your local currency depending on your location. Otherwise, to view pricing in a different currency, use our currency converter at the very bottom of the page.
If your address is outside Australia, it is possible your order might incur a customs or import duty/tax charge. We do not have any control over these charges and cannot advise when they might be applicable or how much they might be. It is best to check with the customs office in your country.
What does delivery cost?
For all Australian orders, we offer $10 flat-rate shipping via Australia Post Prepaid Parcel Post Satchels.
For some Australian orders, you may see a delivery option at checkout for Sendle that will be cheaper than Australia Post. That's because Sendle calculates delivery based on weight of your parcel and delivery location. Feel free to choose this option unless you are using an Australia Post PO Box or Parcel Locker. ** Please note we have temporarily suspended our domestic Sendle service due to the unreliability of couriers. We will consider re-instating this lower-cost service after the Christmas rush.
For international orders, in order to pass on the lowest shipping charge possible, we ship via Sendle. Your final shipping charge is based on the weight of your order and your exact delivery location.
You’ll be able to see your exact shipping charge at checkout after you have added all your products to cart and entered your address details.
If you are using PayPal Express to check out, you’ll see the shipping charge added in the next step after you return to checkout from the PayPal page.
How long will my delivery take to arrive?
Given ongoing worldwide delays, we do not guarantee delivery times. We are guided by the information provided by our shipping partners, and you'll receive delivery updates and/or tracking information via the contact details you provided at checkout. We do our best to ship all orders within 1-2 days of receiving them.
If you order is particularly urgent, please get in touch and we'll do our best to help.
Can you send to Australian PO Boxes?
Yes! Be sure to select an Australia Post delivery option at checkout (not Sendle).
Do you wholesale?
Yes! Olive already lives in a small number of beautiful and independent gift stores. If you would like her to live in your shop, please get in touch.
What payment methods do you accept?
We take Visa and Mastercard through our secure payment portal, Shopify Payments, as well as Paypal. If you’d like to place an order but cannot pay via one of these methods, please contact us by email first and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
No, unfortunately we cannot accept change-of-mind returns or exchanges, so please choose carefully. Of course, in the unlikely event you’ve received a faulty product, please do get in touch so that we may assist you promptly.
What if I make a mistake on my order and want to change it?
Unfortunately, once your order is placed, we cannot change it. This is because we pay for your shipping immediately after your order is placed. Please take care to check your order and your address details before submitting.
