A play on the traditional vintage-style panoramic sugar Easter eggs, my versions are entirely handcrafted by me and remarkably jam-packed with intricate yummy details.

The egg is totally made from scratch with layers of old book papers, covered in toile-printed tissue paper sourced from a Paris stationer.

The egg is trimmed in my personal collection of vintage ribbons, trim, laces and embellishments.

The wide ribbon here for hanging was one I personally bought in Paris some decades ago.

The back is coated in printed linen swatches reproducing the designs of antique Easter postcards from my collection.

The centrepiece here is a bouquet of vintage miniature millinery flowers sourced from a UK specialist milliner.

The cornflower buds come from 1940s/50s Germany, the purple and pink ones are silk, the little green berries are gloriously made from glass on chenille stems made in Japan in the 1950s or earlier.

All finished with my handstamped message of Blessings and Joy, made with love right here in The Beige Larder, Sydney.

Very lightweight but large enough (about 13cm high, plus another 15cm for the ribbon hanger) to make a statement on its own.

A sweet morsel of one-of-a-kind whimsy to hang from a doorknob or from a branch in your Easter tablescape or on your Easter tree.
