Handpainted Lidded Pot Mini Tureen with Blue Trim and Colourful Florals
A charming and timeless vintage piece just like you'd find in Olive's own larder.
Superb condition with no apparent chips or cracks. There is some glazing missing on the inside which you can see in the photos, this appears to be a manufacturing imperfection.
Handpainted and probably European, most likely Italian, with a mark on the base that reads 629/2.
My favourite feature are the ribbon-like handles on each side in the perfect blue trim.
I am no expert but this lovely quality piece looks like the style of majolica or faience similar to Italian maker Castelli - something that might have been picked up on holidays sometime in the 20th century. Unfortunately I have no history or provenance to provide.
Approximately 14cm diameter with a loose fitting lid. Suitable for serving a dip or maybe salt, or some lollies or creatively hiding unsightly keys or similar on a console.
A wonderful host gift or display item that is also endlessly practical for the entertainer.
