Rare Antique Austrian Hotel Silver Tiny Milk Jug Marked Hacker, Hotel Excelsior St. Gilgen
A charming and petite piece of heavy, fine quality Austrian hotel silver with the maker's mark "Hacker" and stamped "Hotel Excelsior St. Gilgen".
I have 2 of these tiny milk jugs available, each with a hinged lid.
Each measuring just under 6cm high.
According to my internet research, Hacker is a little-known silver plate maker from Vienna dating from end of the 19th to beginning of the 20th century and which disappeared after WWI, which would make these true antique pieces.
Vienna has forever been the capital of café culture and this diminutive piece makes the perfect gift for a café enthusiast or collector.
I have included a photo of the Hotel Excelsior St. Gilgen to show where these jugs would have been used. Hotel silver is wonderful and highly sought-after for collectors not just for its superb quality but because it evokes a more elegant and grand time of travel and dining.
Wonderful used condition, with signs of use and age but perfectly functional.
See photos for details as they form part of the product description.
